It's A Boy! *passes out cigars*

According to the people who told me so on the Quill, HP Lexicon, and talimeeka , who showed me this link to where it says so, we now have a gender for the elusive and mysterious Blaise Zabini.

It's a boy!

*Sigh* It's the end of an era, I tell you. In my totally unconfirmed and probably biased opinion, Blaise has to be the most used minor character in fanfic, and it's all because we DIDN'T know his gender. I mean, the kid popped up every durn time an author needed a minor character, or a handy Slytherin to show that not all Slytherins were bad, or to give Draco a shoulder to cry on, or to fill out the ranks of next generation!Death Eaters. *Sighs again*

The whole Blaise resolution has me waxing poetic, I suppose. No, literally, I wrote a poem about it. Just call me crazy. Or really bored. Or blatantly ignoring my summer school homework. All are true, and here goes:

Ode To A Boy

(a boy, not a girl!)

Oh Blaise, oh Blaise,

We never knew

Just what exactly you would do

When you went to the loo.

And all across the fandom we

Were starting to make history

By writing you as he AND she.

Old Hogwarts' first hermaphrodite.

But now the mystery is no more.

You stand up, with your back to door.

And our query is over, forever more.

Until we meet your cousin, Carry.

*Takes a bow* Thank you, thank you very much.
